Real responsibility
Departments are run by leads with defined scopes, not vague helping. You will own something specific.
Home — Volunteer
Over 150 volunteers make four days work. This is a separate application from attending — different commitment, different briefing, different rota.
The honest version
Volunteering is not a softer way of attending — you will miss parts of the programme, you will start earlier and finish later, and you will be on your feet. What you get in return is the room from the inside, a team that becomes friends, and experience that transfers straight into work.
Departments are run by leads with defined scopes, not vague helping. You will own something specific.
Every volunteer is briefed before the event. Technical and Medical roles get additional sessions.
Meals, breaks and a volunteer welfare lead on every shift. Nobody serves all four days without rest.
Fourteen teams
Pick up to three departments on the form. Leads review applications and match people to roles — you will be told which department you are in before the briefing, not on the day.
Check-in desks, QR scanning, first-timer welcome. Calm under pressure, good with people.
Looking after guests, speakers and artists. Refreshments, green room, guest care.
Door control, crowd flow, incident response. Briefed and coordinated with venue staff.
Graphics, signage, stage dressing and social assets through the campaign.
Sound, lighting, staging and live vision. Prior experience valued but not required.
Campaign content, ambassador coordination and on-the-day social coverage.
Intercession before and throughout, plus the prayer room during all four days.
First-timer data, post-event contact and connecting people into community.
Transport, equipment movement, setup and teardown. Physical work, early starts.
First aid cover. Qualified practitioners and trained first-aiders only.
Guest and dignitary handling, seating and stage flow.
Seating, aisles, offerings and crowd guidance inside the auditorium.
Stills, video, photo booths and the live gallery upload pipeline.
Volunteer wellbeing, meals, breaks and safeguarding support.
What we are asking
A single mandatory briefing in the fortnight before the conference, in person or online.
Most departments call 90 minutes before doors and stay 45 minutes after close.
Serving one day is genuinely useful. Tell us which days and we will build the rota around it.
Logistics and Technical need hands after the Grand Finale. It is the least glamorous and most appreciated shift.
Volunteer Management will review it with the department leads and come back to you with your department and rota before the briefing.

No. Your volunteer application covers your entry for the days you are serving. If you want to attend on a day you are not rostered, register separately for that day.
You pick up to three and the leads match you to one, balancing preference against where the gaps are. You will be told which before the briefing.
Sixteen. Under-18 volunteers are placed in departments with direct adult supervision and need guardian consent, which Volunteer Management will arrange.
Some of it, honestly. Rotas are built so most volunteers catch the main sessions on the days they serve, but Technical, Security and Logistics carry the heaviest load.
None. Meals are provided on the days you serve, and volunteers receive the team shirt at no charge.
Yes — rotas and departments are rebuilt each cycle. Mention your previous department in the experience field and it speeds up placement.
